Since our last posting we have neglected to keep you updated on a regular basis, guess we have just been too busy with other things! An early visitor to our boat On 22nd September 2013 Jose’s birthday, we spent a very pleasant morning having breakfast on board Kalida with Alison and Derek and Heinz and Sylvia from Mambo. Birthday breakfast at Kalida 2013 Great presents, great food! Handmade local art, my birthday present, a Kava bowl. These are from a visit to Flora Tropical Gardens, a beautifully laid out garden about 5 km from Savusavu town. The highlight of the gardens is the palm collection with more than 300 species from around the world, including many that are among the most rare and endangered species. The gardens also include more than 40 types of tropical fruit trees, myriad flowering trees, variegated and flowering shrubs, as well as orchids, heliconias, a pond brimming with water lilies, and much more. The gardens' abundance of
